Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer


Job Title: Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer - Environment    Contractor: Tier 1 Contractor    Location: UK Wide (Preferred – Midlands, Northwest, Grangemouth)    Reports To: Temporary Works Principal Design Engineer or Temporary Works Design Lead    Hybrid/ Remote Working Options: Y Division: Infrastructure – Environment    Purpose of the Role: As a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer, you will be responsible for all activities associated with the production of Temporary Works Design in compliance with the Business Management Systems (BMS) and CDM regulations. This role involves working as part of a team providing design and design-checking services for a full range of temporary works, including excavations, working platforms, formwork, falsework, and scaffolding. The services also encompass alternative solutions, value engineering, buildability, and problem/defect resolution, including specification compliance issues.    Key Accountabilities/ Competencies: Civil or Structural Engineering Degree (2:2 or higher) Working knowledge of relevant aspects and laws, including The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and CDM 2015. Good knowledge of structural mechanics and understanding of the fundamentals of soil mechanics. Previous design experience, preferably working for a contractor, subcontractor, specialist supplier, or consultant. Computer literate, preferably including experience with computer-aided draughting and geotechnical/structural analysis software.
