Temporary Works Design Engineer

Job Title: Temporary Works Design Engineer    Contractor: Tier 1 Contractor    Location: UK Wide (Preferred – Midlands, North West, Grangemouth)    Reports To: Temporary Works Principal Design Engineer or Temporary Works Design Lead    Hybrid/ Remote Working Options: Y Division: Infrastructure – Environment    Client Overview: Our client, a leading UK construction business with a strong presence in Water/Environment projects, is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer for its expanding in-house design support unit.    Purpose of the Role: Responsible for Temporary Works Design compliance, the engineer will produce design deliverables, assist in tendering, coordinate subcontractor designs, and ensure CDM compliance.    Key Accountabilities: Design production for various temporary works Tender input and subcontractor appointment Subcontractor design and coordination CDM compliance, ensuring high H&S standards General responsibilities, including design brief compliance, budget adherence, and environmental considerations    Competency Requirements: Health and safety awareness Alignment with our client's values Self-starter, team player, excellent organisational skills Problem-solving ability, prioritisation skills Strong interpersonal and written communication skills Willingness to embrace new solutions and travel    Technical / Professional Expertise and Qualifications: Civil or Structural Engineering Degree (2:2 or higher) Working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations Previous design experience in construction Computer literacy, including CAD and geotechnical/structural analysis software Willingness to work towards professional institution membership (e.g., ICE, IStructE) To apply for this role, apply via this job board
