Senior Electrical Design Engineer


Electrical Engineer Bristol Hybrid working model £40-60k We're recruiting for a global player who specialise in delivering cutting-edge electrical and automation solutions for Naval and Commercial Marine clients worldwide. As a key contributor to their Power Solutions team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing bespoke Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems for Naval & Marine applications. Collaborating closely with diverse engineering disciplines, you'll be instrumental in the development of low voltage DC hybrid propulsion systems for the Commercial Marine market, including yachts and ferries. Electrical Engineer responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimise electrical power systems to meet the unique requirements of our customers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to ensure a holistic design process. Present technical information and design specifications during the design review process. Support the manufacturing and testing of electrical products through to delivery. Represent the Project/Company to customers, suppliers, and operators, occasionally requiring travel to various locations. Electrical Engineer requirements: Hold a degree or equivalent in the electrical field with experience in electrical design techniques. Possess knowledge of both AC and DC electrical power distribution systems, components, and sub-assemblies. Proactively identify and resolve issues, applying problem-solving techniques while considering functional, regulatory, or safety-related requirements. Demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills, articulating ideas effectively to engineers of other disciplines. Work well both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines. Electrical Engineer desirables: Have a sound working knowledge of marine and electrical standards and regulations. Are professionally registered as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or working towards gaining professional status. Have experience in design software such as AutoCAD Electrical to generate electrical schematics. To apply for this exciting role, you must be eligible to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
