Senior Quantity Surveyor


Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Glasgow Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Conrad Consulting is delighted to be representing this client-side organization in their search for a Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will ideally have a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor from either a contractor or consultancy. Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor Develop comprehensive tender documentation, encompassing draft contracts, bills of quantities, and Activity Schedules. Collaborate closely with Project Managers to effectively administer contracts in accordance with NEC and our customized contract formats. Oversee all post-contract commercial matters, engaging in negotiations and consensus-building on compensation events to optimize commercial outcomes for SGN. Strengthen relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, leveraging strategic tools such as feasibility studies, optioneering, cost plans, and estimates to support accurate forecasting. Monitor and support project managers in assessing project changes affecting cost and schedule, and provide insights to adjust budget projections accordingly. Collaborate seamlessly with interfacing stakeholders, including Legal, Operations, and Finance teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication. Contribute actively to periodic reporting requirements mandated by business unit directors. Generate detailed cost reports to facilitate comprehensive project cost management. Evaluate contract risk profiles and recommend effective mitigation strategies. Assist project managers in developing and maintaining a project risk register. Conduct thorough peer reviews of Category Strategy Plans to guarantee their value and suitability for mains replacement activities. Manage the final account process and communicate pertinent commercial lessons learned to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Requirements for the Senior Quantity Surveyor Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification including recognised professional body accreditation or working towards (RICS, CIPS, CICES, IOB or equivalent) is desired Demonstrated proficiency in drafting, negotiating, and managing construction contracts, with a preference for experience with NEC contracts. Track record of working efficiently under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations, consistently delivering quality outcomes and prioritizing essential requirements. Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders, showcasing the ability to influence and negotiate with individuals beyond one's immediate sphere of responsibility. Readiness to travel across network regions, attending different sites while taking charge of the commercial aspects associated with them. Strong IT skills, including knowledge of all MS Office applications.
