Electrical Project Engineer

Job overview: Our client is a well known National MEP Subcontractor, part of a larger Main Contracting business. They have successfully secured a Framework agreement at the QE Hopsital in Birmingham. As such, they require an Electrical Project Engineer to be based on site full time. Work will consist of refurb/refits, upgrades, etc. Over 5 years worth of work on site. Role: As an Electrical Project Engineer you will be required to: * Technically vet all procurement packages. * Co-ordinate the services for their proper integration into the building and liaise with other disciplines. * Oversee the production of all drawings including plant and sub-contract layouts to ensure co-ordination. * Provide support to the Project Surveyor on commercial matters. * Undertake & manage all labour/direct material matters. * Undertake a regular audit of the Productivity Scheme & ensure the same is completed with the Foreman/Site Manager. * Issue labour targets ahead of the work activity on site. * Regularly progress the site production report on site with Foreman/Site Manager. * Maintain accurate records of labour and material elements used in the pre-fabricated sections of the project. * Manage technical and progress issues relating to Plant and Sub-Contractor elements using technical submission process * Provide support to the Site Manager on any installation matters. * Maintain Procurement Schedule, Technical Submission and Drawings * With the Site Manager carry out regular Sub-Contract Project Reviews to plan, progress and monitor installations. * Support the Project Manager in all matters relating to the project and act as Project Manager in the absence of. * Represent the company on any internal and external issues. Qualifications / Experience: * Bachelor’s Degree, HNC or ONC in Electrical or Building Services Engineering * A suitable master’s degree may be advantageous. * Previous project engineering experience is recommended. * Several years of experience working in the engineering field. * Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. * The ability to motivate staff. * A positive attitude and willingness to work overtime if required
