Mechanical Fitter

Key Responsibilities: Execute both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, employing your fault-finding and diagnostic skills to minimize downtime. Promptly address plant downtime issues, enhancing throughput efficiency. Undertake the repair and replacement of equipment, adhering to strict health and safety protocols. Accurately record and manage maintenance tasks using CMMS, contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Engage actively in projects, continuous improvement activities, and compliance with health and safety standards. Qualifications: Mandatory: Completion of an SVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent), with substantial experience in handling mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment. Desirable: Possession of an 18th Edition electrical qualification, HVAC qualification, and IPAF courses. Skills/Experience: Required: Proficiency in HVAC systems, rolling mills, gearboxes, motors, and pumps is essential. Preferred: Familiarity with controls and PLC, along with the ability to read and interpret drawings and engineering specifications. Demonstrable self-discipline, cooperative manner, and strong safety and EHS awareness are critical for success in this role. Personal Qualities: An approachable demeanor, responsive to production demands. A safety-first mindset, with a clear understanding of one's limits and abilities. Confidence in working autonomously on fault-finding and repairs, as well as the capability to thrive within a team setting.
