SEN Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a professional SEN Teacher to join a specialist primary school in Islington, North London. You will be teaching 5 - 11 year olds with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). This is a full time, long-term role starting after Easter for the rest of the academic year. The School: The school supports children from Islington primary schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who have been permanently excluded, allocated a place through SEN consultation or via the Securing Education Board on a short-term placement. A high number of pupils here also have an additional diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. Staff work with pupils whose special educational needs mean that accessing mainstream provision is too difficult for them and they require a higher level of support. Small classrooms of up to six pupils, with a high staff-to-pupil ratio, ensure that children are given the correct support when needed across the school day. As a SEN teacher you will be responsible for the below: Planning, delivering and lessons whilst assessing progress Working with the support staff to put in place and run interventions Support behaviour by following the children's plans Updating and setting targets for children.
