Project Manager


We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Watford that are a specialist groundwork contractor into the modular building industry. Your role as a Project Manager is to take a project from the sales team, manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the project and deliver the completed project to the customer at handover. Key duties and responsibilities.... * Liaise with the client’s project delivery team which can typically include a project manager, site manager, QS, design manager, QA manager. * Where applicable, take responsibility for all survey works and ensure all reports are received and filed. * Where applicable, organise and oversee all design works * Be responsible for ensuring the project has all necessary labour, plant & materials in a timely manner. * To oversee and implement correct H&S practices on site including overseeing RAMS, permits etc, and dealing with the H&S manager on these * Visit site as frequently as needed to ensure the project is being delivered to programme * Monitor and keep track of all variations to the ordered scope of works * Ensure the project is delivered profitably and delivers the entry GP% as a minimum and look out for ways in which the project GP% can be increased * Manage the pricing of all variations and ensure all variations are covered by a PO or written instruction * Issue monthly valuations in a timely manner to the client team and manage / negotiate any change from our valuation amount. * Monitor the progress of applications and ensure the client team issues a payment notice in a timely manner to ensure we can raise an invoice in time to be paid to our terms. For clarity our terms are payment within 30 days of month end and most account departments require at least 10 day to process a payment. * Clearly communicate with the internal team responsible for invoicing * Ensure the persons delivering the project on the ground have all the information they need to do their job * Motivate the workforce on your projects and suggest rewards/bonuses to the operations manager for individuals/teams where applicable.
