Head Of Department Science Teacher Full-time Permanent Contract Islington Secondary School Salary: L16 (Inner London) We are currently working with a large secondary school Islington who are looking for a Science Teacher to join their school on a full-time permanent basis from September 2024 or sooner.  The Role In this role you will be teaching combined science across KS3, KS4 with the potential of teaching some classes in KS5 and will be part of the schools Science department. You will join a supporting a hardworking and dynamic Science faculty in which you can continue your professional development. The students follow the AQA syllabus at both GCSE and A-Level so previous experience of this exam board is preferred although not essential. You will also take on Form Tutor responsibilities. The school are looking for a teacher with the following: - Lead and manage a team of enthusiastic and committed staff ● Secure top grades in both GCSE **and BTEC level 3 Science**. ● Be an outstanding reflective classroom practitioner and a strategic thinker. ● Be able to assist with the development of strategies to ensure every pupil makes good progress in accordance with the schools’ targets and expectations ● Have a commitment to ongoing professional development. ● Be committed to inclusion and well-being of all pupils irrespective of their ability or background ● Be an outstanding role model in your own professional practice including teaching and learning. ● Have the capacity and skills to manage workload and to meet deadlines. ● Be able to assist with the development and delivery of our SEND and intervention strategies. ● Have the knowledge and skills to take responsibility for maintaining up to date curricular intent as directed by your line manager which includes curriculum maps, plans schemes of work and assessment plans. ● Have the knowledge and skills to plan and deliver outstanding lessons that inspire and enthuse pupils. ● To set and mark homework and assessments as per school systems. ● Be expected to play a full part in the extra – curricular activities of this forward-thinking school.
