Payroll & Finance Officer - Full Remote Working


Payroll & Finance Officer, up to £34,000 + Benefits, Fully Remote with very limited travel to the office i.e. once a month, Leeds area. Overview of the Payroll & Finance Officer: Working as part of the Finance Team and managed by the Head of Finance, the Payroll and Finance Officer will take responsibility for ensuring that all elements of payroll are correctly processed and maintained within the payroll and finance system. Whilst payroll will take the main bulk of this workload, there will also be opportunity to get involved in other areas of the finance function. Payroll & Finance Officer Duties: * To administer all areas of the organisation's payroll, including calculating salaries, inputting all data, completing all reporting and committing final payroll run for payment on a monthly basis. * Responding to any ad hoc payroll queries, both directly from employees and other areas of the wider organisation and resolving any issues highlighted. * Processing PAYE deductions, sending payroll information to HMRC and making payment of monies due. * Responsible for producing and distributing P45, P60 and P11d's. * Maintenance of employee, supplier and customer details within the finance system and adding of new employees, suppliers and customers. * General reporting and pulling together of any data needed. * Preparation and supporting in any audits within the finance team. * Supporting on any annual benefits changes * To provide assistance with any other finance matters (on an as and when needed basis) i.e. Sales and Purchase Ledger, Banking, Reconciliation's etc. * To work co-operatively within the team undertaking necessary tasks to ensure deadlines are met as requested by the Head of Finance. * Provide support and advice to the wider colleague base on general finance queries. * Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the Society financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner. * Undertake any other duties arising and pertaining to the post, as directed by the Head of Finance. What’s in your DNA / Experience Needed? * Experience of running payroll a strong advantage to this position. * Experience of also running payroll (internationally) would be a high advantage to this position. * Experience in calculating and processing all aspects of payroll and essential to this role. * Experience of the HR & Payroll system Workday is a strong advantage to this position. * Experience of working with a 3rd party payroll provider is a strong advantage to this position. * Good organisation skills to ensure deliverables are met with a high level of accuracy. * Good ability and use of Excel is an essential to this position. * Ability to relate to both financial and non-financial staff and stakeholders. * Good analytical skills with power of analysis and problem solving. * Creativity to develop uses of finance tools to improve efficiencies. * Ability to react and be flexible to changing priorities. * Enthusiasm for the task, a high degree of flexibility, and the ability to use one's own initiative. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
