Quality Certification Manager


A Quality and Certification Manager is required for our client who are based in rural Cambridgeshire and close to Royston. The role We are seeking an experienced Quality professional with prior experience in the development of integrated quality management systems. (ISO 80079, ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Also ensuring the compliance with Hazloc product approvals and certifications that are maintained to serve customer applications. This is a senior leadership role within the company and will require excellent collaboration with all internal functions as well as external approval and certification bodies to ensure that best practice upheld to develop, maintain and administer product approvals. We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager with a Technical. Engineering background to manage the QMS and product approvals, You will lead a small team of Quality and Product Verification Laboratory Technicians to ensure that Quality is maintained and verified in accordance with required specifications. Duties and Responsibilities * Full responsibility for the Hazloc Product QMS and lead communications with relevant notified bodies such as ATEX and IECEx Intrinsically Safe Product Certifications * Lead all activities within the business to develop, maintain ISO QMS * Management of the Product Verification Team and Laboratory to ensure that products meet required specifications * Work collaboratively across the business to drive Quality improvements and leading activities to reduce product warranty returns, customer complaints, wastage and the cost of poor quality * Take the lead in dealing with customer complaints and warranty return issues using structured problem-solving methods to ensure that root causes are identified, and that sustainable and robust solutions are implemented to prevent reoccurrence * Effective coordination, leadership and communication of all Quality and Hazloc product safety and certification audits to ensure they are maintained to the highest possible standards * Working with the R&D, Commercial and Operations teams to ensure products are specified correctly and achieve compliance with all applicable HazLoc product safety approvals and certifications * Provide high lvels of Technical and Quality related support to R&D and Operational Teams * Coordinate all environmental and regulatory requirements such as WEEE, RoSH and Battery Compliance Schemes etc * Coordinate the internal audit and supplier audit/ approval program * Maintain high quality administration and documentation using the company documentation systems within the relevant ISO integrated QMS The Person Reporting to the Operations Director, we are seeking someone with the following skills and attributes: * Ideally educated to degree level in a related Engineering, Quality and/or Science based discipline * Demonstrable experience within a Senior Quality, Engineering and/or technical manufacturing related role and ideally, from a relevant Technical Manufacturing Industry * Ideally a working knowledge and experience of Hazloc product safety (ATEX, IECEx) including intrinsically safe products and/or flameproof design aspects and certification requirements * Excellent management and leadership skills * An expert in leading an ISO9001/ ISO14001 and ISO80079 (or ISO13485) integrated QMS and lead Auditor trained * Able to conduct structured root cause analysis of high sensitivity electronics and/or instrumentation to enable robust problem solving and provide robust solutions * Some knowledge of Electronic and Electrical Measurement capabilities would be highly desirable * Some process control knowledge would also be helpful (6 sigma, SPC etc.) * Excellent organisational skills and a methodical, logical and detail orientated approach * A high degree of IT literacy and proficiency in MS office * Excellent at building a rapport with internal departments as well as the ability to maintain excellent customer and supplier relationships * Lean manufacturing experience ideally from a modern electronics/ technical manufacturing environment * Safety conscious with a willingness to learn and develop Details This role business critical role is offered on a Full-time, permanent basis and ideally will be based out of the companies impressive site in Fowlmere.
