Catering Assistant

We have a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious private school in Sussex as the role of a Catering Assistant. You will work alongside a brilliant team and assist in the preparation of service & dining areas, complete food service & cleaning of equipment. Experience is desired but not essential for the role. You must be able to communicate effectively with customers and work well under pressure. The ability to achieve performance criteria, have a positive approach to work and being self motivated and a sense of your own initiative is very important for you to present. Daily responsibilities will vary, but can include: Assist with all aspects of the preparation of food service. Prepare food with due care and attention in regards to special dietary requirements. Serve food and drink to customers and guests as directed. Assist with replenishment of food, beverages & equipment. Assist with cleaning on utensils & work areas after service periods. Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues. Promote a good company image to customer and guests. Assist with setup, service, clearing and cleaning of function catering. To undertake occasional duties outside of the normal routine. Reporting in to the Catering Manager There are THREE positions available with different hours of work: Monday- Friday Shift times may vary between Early (6.30am-15.00pm) & Late (11.00am-19.30pm) 40 hours a week, 48 weeks of year (18 days holiday & 4 weeks of half terms off) 32 hours a week, 48 weeks of year (18 days holiday & 4 weeks of half terms off) 40 hours a week, 34 weeks of year (Term Time Only) Benefits: Training & development programs All meals provided on site Pension Private medical Care Free onsite gym membership Due to the environment of the role, a clear Enhanced DBS is required and the need to drive is desired but not essential due to limited public transport.
