The opportunity: This role is based in the Accident & Health team which sits within specialty products and will also include providing support to the specialty and casualty teams. The accident & health team in London underwrites a growing reinsurance portfolio. Reporting to the Managing Director, this position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day underwriting activities of the accident & health team. What you'll be doing: * Accurate and timely input of data into relevant underwriting systems with a view to developing the ability to interpret and present findings where required * Timely filing of documentation * Assist with portfolio management activities to maintain compliance with underwriting objectives and corporate enterprise risk management guidelines * Work closely with underwriters to develop knowledge of the industry and technical underwriting approach * Establish and maintain superior business and service oriented partnerships with the client's brokers What we are looking for in you: * Be educated to a minimum of A-level standard, or equivalent, and must have GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent, at Grade C or above * Have passed or are looking to study the Lloyd's Introductory Test or Award in London Market Insurance shortly after employment. Completion of the CII Advanced Diploma in Insurance is encouraged. * Demonstrate IT skills including MS Office * Demonstrate a proactive approach and a collegiate mentality * Demonstrate attention to detail * Be interested in and be prepared to develop knowledge and understanding of world affairs What next?
