Purpose of the Electronics Design Engineer role: To develop software and features of both existing & new product.

Powerstar are now looking for an electronic design engineer to work in a small team environment developing hardware and firmware for our existing and new products. The candidate must have a good understanding of power electronics and software languages.

Electronics Design Engineer Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems (Microchip) for Energy Systems, especially for transformers from requirements to production and commercial deployment
• Building and testing PCB prototypes including soldering components
• PCB design for the control circuit for Energy Systems
• Design, develop, code, test and debug system both software and hardware
• Review code and design
• Integrate and validate new product designs as well as hardware design and development
• Support software QA and optimize I/O performance
• Provide post production support
• Assess third party and open source software

Requirements for the successful Electronics Design Engineer

• Minimum of 5 years design experience in an industrial environment
• Proven working experience in software and or power electronic engineering.
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets as well as PCB design
• Solid programming experience in C or C++
• Solid experience in PCB design via mentor pads and Altium designer
• Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating systems
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
• Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
• Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
• Strong design and test documentation and writing skills
