Catering Assistant

We are seeking two Catering Assistants to join our brand new 12 bed eating disorder service supporting young adults between the ages of 18 - 25 years old at Middlewood Clinic in Midhurst, West Sussex due to open early 2024! You will work as part of the Middlewood Clinic catering team to support in the provision of the catering operation assisting with high quality food preparation and hygiene working under the guidance and direction of the Head / Chef’s. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s safe catering policies and procedures. Taking responsibility for parts of the catering operation in both the kitchen and dining room. Ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s safe catering policies and procedures. Sharing responsibility within the team for maintaining appropriate records and data as required under the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and guidelines. Responding to routine enquiries from colleagues and occasionally patients. To be a Successful Catering Assistant you will need: Experience in a catering environment is not essential as full training is provided. To partake in Elysium’s mandatory training. Basic numeracy and literacy skills together with an appreciation of basic food hygiene. Where you will be working Location:  Little Ashfield, Midhurst, West Sussex, GU29 9JP  Middlewood Clinic provide care and treatment for men and women who have an eating disorder including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and atypical eating disorders. Subject to CQC registration our approach will be to restore a healthy body weight and address psychological problems during treatment.   The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) at Middlewood Clinic will be made up of the Registered Manager, Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurses, Healthcare Workers, Psychologist, Dietician, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker.  The hospital will have 12 comfortable ensuite bedrooms and a variety of communal and recreational spaces including lounge areas, a light and airy dining room, activities room, visitors room, therapy rooms, therapy kitchen area and a lovely cottage style garden.   What you will get Annual salary of £ £22,000 £1,200 location allowance The equivalent of 33 days annual leave (inc Bank Holidays) – plus your birthday off!
