Exciting opportunity for a 3rd Line IT Support Engineer to join an established wealth management and financial services company. This role involves providing high-level technical support, maintaining a strong customer focus, and contributing to the development and implementation of IT infrastructure.

This will be a varied role working as part of small IT Team in which you will work on wide range of IT Systems and Infrastructure, alongside day-to-day operational tasks you will be heavily involved IT Projects.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Configure and deploy infrastructure items including Servers, networks, and IT peripherals.
  • Monitor and manage IT systems to maximise performance and uptime.
  • Serve as an effective point of contact for internal IT issues, resolving or referring to third parties as appropriate.
  • Provide escalation support to the Helpdesk Team and cover for 1st/2nd line support.
  • Identify areas for improvement in IT service and take responsibility for assigned IT projects.
  • Maintain high levels of cybersecurity awareness and proactively secure infrastructure and systems.
  • Mentor and train other members of the IT team.
  • Work closely with external IT specialists, consultants, and providers.
  • Utilise all relevant IT facilities provided by the company within the guidelines set out by the IT Department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with VMWare and virtualisation.
  • Proficiency in supporting and implementing Microsoft Server, VMWare, Microsoft SQL, and Citrix.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 including Email, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Factor Authentication and networking (Firewalls, Switches, Patching, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with backup tools such as Veeam and supporting Domain Services including Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Ability to deliver major system upgrades and complete change control and project work.
  • Excellent documentation skills and exceptional communication skills at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to undertake study and be self-motivated.
