Mobile Plant Fitter

Qualifications Minimum of NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds and/or Equivalent in Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV Mechanics Job Skills * 5+ years’ relevant experience (post apprenticeship) in the repair and maintenance of Heavy Construction Plant – Bulldozers, Dump Trucks, Excavators, Graders, Loading Shovels etc. * Knowledge and experience of Tier 4 and 5 Engines, Regen & Adblue Systems. * Proven Technical Competence on Diesel Engines, Regen Systems, Transmissions, Drive Lines, Hydraulics & Electrical Systems. * Experience and knowledge in laptop diagnostics/fault finding. * Elevated level of Health & Safety knowledge. * Working with a cost-conscious mindset to ensure maximum profitability. * Competent at writing engineers reports/job cards/asset condition reports * Computer literate with emails and tablet-based maintenance systems Job Roles / Duties * Undertake the maintenance, diagnostics and repair of OEM branded equipment (Volvo, Caterpillar, Komatsu and Bell) within a geographical area. * Conduct inspections, local preparation, brake testing etc. * Order parts for your repair as necessary, return any unused parts in a clean condition at the time of job completion. * Help and coach colleagues, where necessary. * Accurate and punctual completion of systems/paperwork. * Conduct all work in line with quotations and time guides, highlighting to management where more work may be needed. * Ensure company tool defects ad reported, used in line with current test periods and in line with instructions/training. * Complete dynamic risk assessments and method statements prior to starting any work.
