Senior Quantity Surveyor


We are now recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor - Offices based in Harlow and or Eastbourne, Site visits will be required in London. About the role: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor with ductwork experience, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the commercial aspects of our projects, ensuring cost efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to budgetary constraints. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying, with a specific focus on ductwork-related activities. Key Responsibilities: * Manage all commercial aspects of construction projects, with a specific focus on ductwork-related activities. * Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents. * Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering exercises to maximize cost efficiency. * Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective project delivery. * Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and addressing any deviations from budgetary targets. * Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors. * Provide expert advice and guidance on contractual matters and dispute resolution. * Mentor and support junior members of the quantity surveying team. Qualifications and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on ductwork-related projects. * Strong knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and industry standards. * Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail. * Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities. * Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as MS Excel, CostX, or similar. * Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential.
