Assistant Curriculum Manager

Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the southwest of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and hightly motivated Assistant Curriculum Manager, to assist in delivering an innovative and relevant curriculum that meets the PEF contract requirements at HMP The Verne.

Day to day duties.

• Assisting with the recruitment, scheduling and utilisation of staff whilst assuring the quality of their work.

• Positively contributing to the effective monitoring and delivery of all targets.

• Working with the Curriculum Manager to ensure compliance with and implementation of Weston College HR policies.

• Successful delivery of the contracted curriculum through regular monitoring, promoting and exceptional deployment of resources.

Required Skills and Qualifications.

• A Degree or Professional Qualification, which is appropriate to the work.
• A Teaching Qualification at Level 4 or above.
• Highly motivated and setting high standards for self and others
• Experience or able to demonstrate the ability to motive and lead others through exceptional interpersonal skills.

HMP The Verne, a Category C men's prison on the Isle of Portland in Dorset, prioritises education through partnerships with Weston College and the Open University. Residents can access a robust curriculum, which includes distance learning and courses like painting, decorating and construction.
