Embedded firmware engineer

Role: Embedded firmware engineer

Location, Strathclyde, Scotland

Salary: 25,000 - 40,000 dependant on level

Education:

• Minimum 2 years experience.
• Ideally degree level, or adequate experience to carry out design work.

Skills required:

• System design of real time systems, data processing and storage.
• Embedded device programming.
• Use of PIC microcontrollers, simpler microprocessors, FPGA (optional).
• Program languages of assembly, C, C++ (and C# optional).
• Communication protocols and interfaces, such as:
• Ethernet TCPIP
• SPI
• I2C
• Modbus
• System to system interfaces
• Real time data collection and processing.
• Simple database storage.
• Low level file systems.
• Data processing and manipulation.
• Basic windows programming to verify embedded devices can speak to windows based systems (eg visual studio).

Benefits are:

Flexibility in start stop times, 37.5 hours a week, but core 10am until 4pm require per day.

Pension scheme of 3% of employee is matched with 5% from company.

30 days holiday per year, increased by 1 day per year worked after 3 years, to a maximum of 35 days.
