Multi- Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Elec bias)


A tremendous opportunity has arisen at a world leading manufacturer close to Bury. The role would be days only Monday to Friday 8am to 430 with overtime payable on top of working hours. Salary is £45k and it is essential that you have Electrical skills and qualifications to apply for this role as well as at least 2 years experience in manufacturing and be time served. Your tasks will be: To work in a small engineering team reporting to the Engineering Services Manager. Ensure the company’s Health and Safety and Environmental Policies are adhered to. Ensure that preventative maintenance duties are carried out across the site. Duties will include; attending breakdowns, carrying out overhauls on machinery, completing remedial corrections, improving the plant availability and reliability, take an active role in the continuous improvement activities. Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is carried out, using CMM software, reducing risk of downtime. Responsibilities: Working to Planned Preventative and Reactive maintenance regimes. The repair and servicing of mechanical & electrical equipment, PPM & reactive utilising CMM software. Managing priorities within the manufacturing process. Working within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve set goals. The repair and maintenance of building fabric. Provision of job feedback information to help desk and senior engineer. Participation in standby rota for emergency calls outside normal working hours. Providing information for the pricing of M&E works where applicable, for minor projects and maintenance. HSE management in accordance with our quality management system and all legal and statutory requirements. To attend progress meetings with line managers as and when required Installing and commissioning new plant and equipment. Actively involved in continuous improvement projects. Supporting the development of the team through strong leadership and mentoring e.g. when supporting apprentices, new hires or associate training. Essential Skills: Self-managed engineer, to ensure targets are achieved. Multi skilled with an electrical bias. Knowledge of electrical services. Must have PLC experience on Siemens S7 Experience of working on Siemens Simovert and masterdrive inverters. Fault finding on Control circuits. The ability to fault find on pneumatic and hydraulic, components. 17th or 18th Edition essential. Knowledge of lone working requirements. Experience of General Building Management Systems. Risk Assessment and Method Statement trained. Ability to diagnose and rectify faults on highly complex plant and equipment. Ability to plan and organise a broad range of complex activities and programmes and work unsupervised. Relevant post apprenticeship experience. Experience of working on a wide range of highly complex mechanical and electrical plant undertaking planned maintenance and repairs. Able to work under pressure. Able to work at height. Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be willing to work overtime and callouts when necessary Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. ONC level qualifications in electrical discipline. IT Literate with the ability to use a range of packages applicable to the role, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (emails)
