CNC Workshop Manager

Location: Cambridge (CB24) Duration: Permanent Hours: 8am until 5pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 Job Reference: 34919 Polytec are looking for a CNC Workshop Manager for our client based just north of Cambridge. You will ideally have an advanced apprenticeship in Mechanical engineering with experience in making components. Responsibilities: * Produce high quality components to set deadlines * Follow production list ensuring jobs are produced meeting deadlines * Work to tight financial margins * Liaise with senior management to map and plan future work * Implementing procedures to improve efficiency and reduce material and tool wastage * Order tooling as and when required * Maintain existing machines to a high standard * Adjusting and updating programs for increased efficiency when necessary * Regularly self-inspecting the jobs being produced Requirements: * Advanced apprenticeship in mechanical engineering * Ability to read and understand complex technical drawings * Ability to produce precision components to the tightest tolerances (0.01mm or less) * Experience using a wide range of inspection equipment * Good level of knowledge in programming and setting up CNC milling and turning machines * Experience in using manual lathes and milling machines Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below!
