Management Accountant

Richter is an engineering design consultancy Operating out of 12 strategically located UK offices. At the heart of our practice is our team of experienced engineers and technicians, who provide specialist engineering design services. Our Finance team is looking for a Management Accountant to be based in our Birmingham office. This is a new position, reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for producing management accounts for our Ground Engineering division. We are looking for a Management Accountant who can identify problem areas and present recommendations to company management. Who can communicate and interpret financial data to our non-financial managers. This is a permanent role that is full time but we are open to considering the position on a part time basis. Key Responsibilities: * Responsible for the finance function and overseeing all day-to-day finance operations. * Manage the maintenance of the financial accounting system and accounting processes. * Completion of monthly management reports. * Review the management accounts and balance sheets and investigate variances. * Manage the entire year end process and take overall responsibility for balance sheet and reconciliations. * Monitor financial transactions and internal controls and cash flow forecasting. Essential Criteria: * Educated to degree level, with an accounting qualification (preferably CIMA) * Strong systems skills (preferably SAGE). * Proficient IT skills including Microsoft packages. * Valid UK driving license. The Individual: * A strong focus and background in finance with a good understanding of technical accounting. * Attention to detail, but with the ability to think strategically as needed. * Excellent communication. * A proactive and adaptable approach. * Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external. * A good appreciation of what constitutes best practice in terms of systems and processes and the ability to identify and implement necessary changes
