Role Description Senior Positive Behavioural Specialist You must hold a UK Driving licence to apply for this role. You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK. SeeAbility is unable to support any sponsorship requests. Location: Birchington-on-Sea, Kent Salary: £28,743 per annum plus benefits. Sleep-ins are compulsory in this role and are salaried in addition to your contractual hours at £50.00 per sleep. Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis. Be part of something extraordinary! The Role Supporting the Service Manager and Deputy Manager you will support a team of Positive Behavioural Specialists. You will provide extraordinary, forward-thinking person-centred support, which is safe and maximises choice, dignity, and independence. Working in partnership with the person you will support, their family, our specialist support teams and external agencies. You will help to plan and implement professionally designed and person-centred support plans. You will support the improvement of quality of life every day. You will function as a role model and mentor to the team, use sound judgment and give choice to achieve goals and explore new opportunities. A natural leader with experience of providing extraordinary support, ideally to people with behavioural challenges and/or mental health support needs. You will be professional, patient and calm under pressure. You will be a strong team player with the ability to lead by example.  You will have a QCF in Health & Social Care level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) with willingness to undertake level 3. A sound knowledge of regulatory standards for supported/residential living and will take personal responsibility for the quality of care and support. Furthermore, as Senior Positive Behavioural Specialist you will be responsible for:  Can you deliver support in a non-traditional way, working alongside the person we support, doing things with them, rather than for them. Can you work alongside the person, giving them options for their support, whilst giving them the space they need. Daily support in areas such as laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration. Getting to know the person you will support, being forward thinking to support them in their life choices. Taking personal responsibility for the quality of support, with an ability to be solution driven when dealing with daily life challenges. Safeguarding, whilst supporting positive risk tasking and promoting the welfare of the person you will support. Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims.  Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities  Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments and supporting with finances and budget planning. Ensuring the person you support, and their families are treated with respect, dignity, and equality. You will be willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering mornings, evenings, and weekends. You will participate on an on-call rota and over-time shifts will be available. You will need to be consistent and compassionate. When I am anxious you will need to be calm, and after a tough day, step into the next holding no grudges. Willing to work along-side and with me, giving me options and choices, and not telling me what to do! It is essential that you can drive, and you must be willing to work as a team. You will work with me and my family and importantly you must like the things I like, especially animals. Responsibilities Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities. Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety. To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences. To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred support. Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records and support plans and function as a Keyworker when required. To support and maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet his individual needs.
