People Relations Specialist


Fixed term contract for 7 months covering maternity leave South East London – hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days a week at our Westminster Bridge Road office in SE1 Closing date: 3rd April 2024 What we’re looking for: * Do you have a strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice, including future changes? * Can you demonstrate an extensive track record of managing employee relations casework, end-to-end? * Do you hold CIPD Level 3/5 qualification with Associate CIPD status or have relevant experience? * Are you strongly committed to equality, diversity and inclusivity? * Do you have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify options and be creative to ensure resolution? If so, this role is perfect for you! Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a People Relations Specialist on a Fixed Term basis at our Westminster Bridge Road office. This is a 7-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. A bit about the role: As a People Relations Specialist, you will manage the end-to-end employee relations casework, providing a professional, and timely advisory service in a centre of expertise dedicated to employee relations and wellbeing. Team working will be essential to ensure the business receives an efficient employee relations service. Some of the key results for the role include: * Provide expert advice, support and coaching to managers in respect of the full spectrum of employee relations issues including but not limited to grievance, discipline, capability, and sickness absence. * Exercise judgement and autonomy in implementing creative, innovative solutions to achieve satisfactory outcomes to employee relations issues. * Ensure that all employee relations activity takes account of Peabody’s wellbeing strategy, and that wellbeing data is a key consideration in both case and policy review. * Establish collaborative and productive working relationships with Peabody’s recognised trade unions and colleague representative groups and networks, ensuring flexibility and multiple pathways to early conflict resolution. * Undertake basic analysis of employee relations data, uncovering trends, themes, and patterns, to be considered in the context of business change. * Ensure an up-to-date knowledge of employment law, caselaw, industry best practice and wider people-related issues. This role will require a minimum of 2 days working in the office, one of which will be on Tuesday (normally London).
