Position: SENCO ***Willing to take aspiring SENCOs too - with strong primary experience*** Location: Redbridge  Contract: Full time Salary: Dependant upon experience Start Date: September 2024 We are excited to announce an opportunity for an exceptional Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our client primary school in Redbridge. SENCO Main Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day implementation of our SEN policy and coordinate specific provisions to support individual students with SEND. Provide professional guidance to colleagues, collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies. Take a strategic approach to provision for students with SEND, monitoring and continuously improving the quality of support through evidence-based methodologies. Collaborate with early years providers, other schools, educational psychologists, health and social care professionals, and external agencies as needed. Uphold the welfare of students and adhere to school policies and the staff code of conduct. Lead the High Needs In School Provision, with some teaching responsibilities. Qualities and Qualifications Required: A highly skilled practitioner with a track record of achieving high standards in SEN education. A commitment to educational excellence and raising standards for all students. A minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching at the primary or secondary level. Dedication to inclusive practices that support the diverse needs of students. Effective leadership and teamwork skills, serving as a positive role model for colleagues. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. A passion for Continued Professional Development. Ideally hold the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO). In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and prior experience as a SENCO. An understanding of student progress and a willingness to embrace innovative approaches. Expertise in building upon established processes and systems. Experience in delivering training and leading INSET sessions. Willingness to conduct student observations and support teachers in implementing strategies for improved student outcomes.
