2nd Line Support Engineer


We are currently looking for a number of experienced 2nd line engineers for an MSP client of ours based in Milton Keynes. Working within their technical services team you will be responding to a variety of incidents and service requests across Storage, Networks, Virtualisation, Back up, DR and Microsoft tech stack. This is a 24/7 service they provide to clients so you will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern working 7am to 7pm then 7pm to 7am with an additional shift allowance payable. In turn you will be provided with both vendor and structured training with the view to gaining certifications within your first 12 months such as a CCNA, VCP or NCDA. The training is ongoing during your career and all staff are provided with a structured career path.

We are looking for people who have preferably worked for an MSP previously and have a good knowledge of VMware, Horizon, VDI or similar. You will be familiar with the Microsoft stack covering desktop and serves OS's, Hyper-V, AD and exchange with a good understand of cloud technologies like Azure, M365 and AWS.

Working with both internal and external stakeholders the role will be varied so you must be adaptable to change and open to learning new skills. You will carry out event monitoring and perform initial triage on networks, compute, storage, VMware, Backup and DR infrastructure. Having worked in ITIL environments previously you will be managing incident, Change and problem management for clients and keep them informed in a timely manner.
