Systems Engineer - Defence. Portsmouth OR New Malden The salary on offer is up to £42,153 depending on your qualifications & experience. What you'll be doing: Generation of design, test, and installation documentation Investigation and resolution of design issues Design and build of electrical and hardware systems to achieve successful acceptance Understanding of Configuration Control and baselines Use of Visio for Hardware design Successful installation and setting to work of hardware on ship Design proving via a combination of in-house testing and external test houses Authoring of test specs for shock, vibration, EMC and others The skills required: To have worked previously in complex multi-project environments & to a background in the hardware domain. Knowledge & experience of equipment development using COTS hardware. You'll also need the ability to author and understand technical and design documentation. Bonus points for: Experience with COTS cabinets, cabinet design, wiring schedules, power distribution & familiarity with blade, PC and networking technologies Due to the nature of this programme Security Clearence is required.
