RF Designer (Analogue)

A leading defence consultancy is looking for a skilled RF Designer (Analogue) to join their team in Romsey working on diverse projects dedicated to designing and implementing innovative RF systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize expertise in selecting and integrating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components into RF designs for HF/VHF systems, including Power Amplifiers, RF power switches, Filters, LNAs, and Antennas.
• Demonstrate proficiency in antenna matching techniques, impedance analysis, VSWR analysis, and performance optimization for wideband operation.
• Design Power Amplifiers ranging from 1W to 10kW, ensuring reliability and efficiency for defence applications.
• Conduct RF simulations using AWR Microwave Office or similar tools to optimize designs and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform Radiation Hazard analysis to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in RF design within the defence sector, with a focus on HF/VHF systems.
• Strong understanding of COTS components selection and integration into RF designs.
• Expertise in antenna matching, impedance analysis, and VSWR analysis.
• Experience in Power Amplifier design, simulation, and analysis.
• Proficiency in RF simulation using AWR Microwave Office or similar tools.
