Associate Town Planner | Kent

Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting an independent and creative Town Planning consultancy, based in East Kent on the hire of an Associate Town Planner. The company has been established for over 20 years and focuses on providing high-calibre planning advice to a range of development partners predominantly in London and the South East region. You would join a close-knit team of Town Planners from a range of professional backgrounds. As a part of the Planning team, the Associate Town Planner will be involved in a diverse range of projects including residential developments, commercial and leisure proposals of varying scales, some of which you will work alongside other members of the team. You can expect to build relationships with our clients as well as liaising with other specialist consultants and LPA officers and key consultees during the appraisal, preparation and negotiation of planning applications so the successful candidate will have development management experience. However, the Practice also has a strong reputation for strategic land promotion and ideally candidates will have some experience of the planning policy process and the successful candidate will be given every opportunity to develop skills and experience in this area, including project management skills when coordinating larger projects. The successful Associate Town Planner will demonstrate the following skills: a strong drive for results; a team player with a positive and energetic outlook; the desire and ability to adapt to changing situations; adept at building relationships with external contacts, including clients and planning officers; an ability to plan ahead, and to understand the commercial aspects of the planning process; a valid UK driver's licence; a relevant degree; You should have a passion for planning and the desire to find creative solutions in order to "drive positive proposals forward." The ideal candidate will have significant experience after graduating, preferably having worked/working in the private sector. Rewards?
