Drawing & Design Support Engineer

Due to continued business growth, we want to add to our current portfolio of services to the Medical Gas Pipeline System industry. Job Purpose: * The Drawing & Design Support Co-ordinator undertakes site survey’s and audits of Medical Gas Pipeline Services (MGPS) and equipment. The facilities layout drawings should be labelled and marked up suitable for accurate and detailed as-fitted drawings to be produced by either themselves or the back-office sales support/design services team. * Compliance and risk audits shall also be produced on both the MGPS and the medical gas equipment. Reports shall be produced using our bespoke cloud-based asset management platform, MyMedGas. * You will visit both our existing and new hospital clients on a nationwide basis. This will range from multiple days on-site at acute hospitals - to day visits at private hospitals community hospitals, hospices, veterinary hospitals, etc. * You should have a methodical mindset with an understanding of pipe work networks, control equipment and rotating equipment such as air compressors or vacuum pumps. * We require someone experienced in reviewing or producing planned layout drawings in CAD format. 3D Revit software is used to produce each drawing, so the ability to use this would be an advantage, but not a requirement as training will be provided. Main Responsibilities: * Deliver against company set goals. * Conduct site survey’s of medical gas pipeline systems (MGPS) and equipment. * Provide compliance or risk audits with the existing MGP. * Update and add asset information to the cloud asset management platform MyMedGas. * HTM02-01 Proposal design drawings (pre-install). * BIM Coordination (piped medical gases). * Produce commercial offers for drawing and design service works. * Produce MGPS design, flow rate and pressure drop reviews to determine existing system capacity. * Mark up or produce drawings to include: * As-fitted plans, as-fitted isometrics, as-fitted schematics * Valve Identification labelling (up to source equipment main valve). Ongoing drawing updates (contract). * Flexible and adaptive approach to our changing business landscape. To succeed, you need: * Essential: - Mechanical/electrical higher-level qualification or equivalent level qualification in relevant business area - CAD software packages - Microsoft Suite - Reading and production of CAD layout drawings - Experience in on-site environments within healthcare or similar industries * Desirable: - BIM Software - Medical standards (HTM02-01) - AP or CP medical gases - Medical gas business - BIM coordination * Highly self-motivated and ability to work independently onsite. * Strong communication skills verbal and written. * Strong IT skills. * Experience with onsite auditing of medical gases or related industries is desirable. * You have an eagerness to grow and learn within your role. * You are customer-focused and take ownership of meeting the customer's needs * You are fluent in English, as this is our internal language. * Hold a full UK Driving licence. You will travel nationwide and may need to stay away for the business trip (unsociable hours). * You must have the valid right to work in the UK for you to be eligible for this role.
