CNC Machinist

The Machinist is responsible for producing machined conforming components from start to finish, including interpreting drawings and quality inspection of the parts. To determine the parts required for machining. · To interpret the drawing to identify, pick and prepare the correct material required for the operation. · To interpret the drawing to identify the operations required on the appropriate machinery. · To program the machinery as per the identified operation. · To run the required machining program. · To quality check the machined parts to ensure they are conforming with tolerances, works orders and drawing. · To identify the parts and store in the correct location as per management instruction. · To ensure appropriate housekeeping and asset care happens on the machinery. · To ensure work performed meets the production timescales. · To ensure appropriate levels of consumables for the machinery is maintained. · To safely move parts, ensuring the appropriate lifting tools and operating the overhead crane. · To adhere to the company safe systems of work and appropriate standard operating processes. · To flexibly undertake any other duties similar with this level of post, according to the needs of the business.· Engineering Technician Level, 3 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Machining or equivalent. · A minimum of 4 years experience working as machinist. · Experience operating CNC machines both manual and automatic. · Experience operating manual borer. · Able to program machines (desirable). · A wide knowledge and experience of machine tools. · Able to read and interpret engineering drawings. · Understanding of H&S policy, procedures and working safely. · Understanding of quality. · Exposure to working with job cards.· Strong attention to detail. · Excellent hand-eye coordination. · Ability to meet deadlines and work to production schedules. · Able to work within a team and on their own. · Good verbal communication. · Able to work to and within procedures, safe systems of work and quality. A good knowledge of written English language
