Job title – Project Quantity Surveyor Location – Wigan Competitive salary Up to £55,000 Travel allowances Health cover Company pension Holidays - 30 days inc bank holidays Duration – Perm/Full-time Sector - Construction - Shopfitting - Joinery The role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join an expanding family run business, based in Wigan. With over 15 years’ experience in construction, joinery and shopfitting and a mission to be the number one preferred contractor, making them head and shoulders above others in the construction field. They build on their reputation by undertaking activities in a sustainable and responsible manner, taking pride in everything that they do. Due to steady growth of our business, they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to be based out of their Wigan office. Although travel throughout the UK will be required on a frequent basis, as the contracts dictate. The Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility for projects, managing the project costs from Pre-Construction through to completion and reporting to the Managing director. Key task attributes for the Quantity Surveyor will be, to have a knowledge and experience in, fit out, retail and commercial build, and to carry out the following duties and to assist a team with the following: The project build cost achieved to the budget. All contractual notices to Sub-Contractors issued on time. All Sub-Contract packages commenced on time as a result of timely placement in line with project delivery targets. We are seeking applications from experienced degree qualified, Assistant Quantity Surveyors working towards or looking to obtain a RICS accreditation. The Roles and Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Liaising with clients, • Developing and implementing new procedures, • Preparation of tenders and quotations, • Material take off’s. • Instructing sub-contractors and supplier orders, • Plant and equipment ordering, • Cost reporting, • Financial monitoring of projects, • Preparation of valuations and final accounts, • Monitoring of projects and measured term contracts. • Pricing additional and varied works. Assisting in the following: • Evaluation and reporting of tenders. • Valuation of completed work and arranging for payments. • Administration of construction contracts. P MK] V• Preparation of reports to customers. • You will need to be flexible and willing to spend time in other offices and sites. This is to gain a full understanding of new projects and different clients. • Be prepared to work away from home when required. • A full UK driving licence is essential. • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written. • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work. • Good organisation, problem solving and negotiating skills. • Financial and numeracy management skills. • You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task. • Excellent ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential. • You must be confident in receiving and working to verbal instructions • Able to complete all necessary paperwork efficiently and on time • Comfortable liaising with colleagues and clients to ensure all project requirements are met. • You must be a great team player, but capable working on your own • You must be confident, organised, with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude Please email your cv to me to apply (url removed) If you want to discuss this role or any of my other roles please ring (phone number removed)
