Project Manager


We have an exciting opportunity for Project Manager with experience in the waste water treatment industry to join a long established engineering company. This would be an office based role, with regular visits to sites local to Greater Manchester. Hours of work: 8am – 16.30pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 13.00pm Friday Role Purpose Lead and manage the Site Services division and operational engineering teams on multiple projects and frameworks to deliver the divisional objective; unquestionable safety, unbeatable quality. Driving the development of existing client relationships, new and repeat business and champion the companies, strategy, and values. Autonomy is key to succeed in this role. Reporting direct to the Directors, this role requires you to lead and display high levels of initiative to manage the division and ensure all aspects and KPI’s are delivered effectively to maintain ongoing client relations. Key Accountabilities * Coordinate, lead and support the team, ensuring that they are adequately resourced, motivated, and managed to achieve and maintain high levels of performance, commitment & morale. * Ensure projects are delivered safely, timely, and successfully within budget. * Estimation of jobs – going to site and evaluating the job, estimating labour and plant hire. * Provide key client, subcontractor, and supply chain engagement to add whole life value and continuously improve customer experience. * Support the development of the company culture through effective team and company communication and role modelling of the company vision, values, and behaviours. Drive excellent communication within teams and with both internal and external stakeholders. * Ensure project delivery risks, issues and opportunities are identified, documented, escalated, and managed to improve overall safety performance, customer experience, and profitability. * Champion continuous team development through performance reviews, training, mentoring, and coaching. * Ensure full compliance with all Company HSQE standards, policies, processes, ISO accreditations and legislative requirements. * Undertake regular site visits and chair monthly project and maintenance reviews to review project and team performance and ensure that project teams receive adequate challenge, support, and guidance. * Support business development, staying abreast of regular pre-qualification and tender activity and undertake bid management duties. * Ensure commercial aspects of the division are maintained; monthly billing of projects, payment applications, and cashflow forecasting. * Manage the WIP, providing accurate forecasts for the project and maintenance pipeline. Invoicing all complete jobs. * Promote and support the use of company preferred subcontractors & suppliers to improve HS&E and project delivery standards and to achieve cost savings & rebate recovery. * Actively manage internal and external resources and supply chain to ensure projects and support functions are fully and efficiently utilised throughout the tender, construction, and post-completion phases. Skills & Experience * Engineering qualifications desirable but experience goes a long way * Mechanical Engineering and operations related background within the water treatment sector * Experience with estimating, would be a great asset. * Familiar with CDM regulations, and the difference in roles and duties * Health and Safety Qualifications range from IOSH, SMSTS to NEBOSH and degree level.
