Domestic abuse support worker

Apricus Resourcing are working with a leading charitable organisation who are looking for a Transitional Support Worker for a Domestic Abuse service based towards the Tower Bridge area of London, the role is based on a full-time locum basis but there is the opportunity for the role to turn permanent in the future should you wish. Within your role you will be working to improve the quality of life for the clients you are supporting as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle to those in your care and their closest ones. You will be providing intensive casework, supporting their needs and working with them on a day to day basis. You will be working with vulnerable women and children who have been the victim of domestic abuse so it’s imperative you have a sympathetic caring nature to your work. You will be working with clients to promote and produce a safety plan with a focus on the individuals strengths to meet their chosen goals around moving home and establishing a new, safe home environment. Other key duties you will carry out will include: * Providing emotional housing support to service users prior to and after moving from the service * To help facilitate, promote and evaluate social activities for service users * Develop and maintain links with local agencies such as foodbanks, drug and alcohol services, MH teams and much more * Link clients with suitable partnered agencies such as health, education etc * Design workshops and training sessions housing providers * Maintain and update written records In order to be considered for this position you will need to have a proven track record and history of supporting women and children who have experienced domestic violence, you will also need in depth knowledge of domestic violence and it’s effect on survivors. Knowledge of housing legislation is also required as is the understanding of issues surrounding safeguarding & welfare benefits. In return for your commitment, we are able to offer a very competitive rate of pay of between £16.60 - £17.06 per hour dependent on experience.
