Facilities Maintenance Technician

A reputable and well-established company based in Basildon is seeking a proactive and skilled Facilities Maintenance Operative to support the ongoing upkeep, compliance, and day-to-day maintenance of its premises. This hands-on role is ideal for someone experienced in general building maintenance who takes pride in creating a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and general repairs across multiple premises
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in outdoor and perimeter areas
• Support with internal cleaning and hygiene-related duties
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors performing on-site maintenance tasks
• Assist in maintaining compliance with Health & Safety and operational standards
• Keep accurate records and perform basic IT-based reporting related to maintenance activities

Essential:

• Prior experience in a Facilities or Building Maintenance role
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and general repair tasks
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with manual handling, working at height, and in confined spaces
• Basic IT literacy for documentation and reporting

Package & Benefits:

• Salary: 36,000 - 38,000 per annum
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays (33 days total)

Working Hours:

• Monday - Friday
• 8:00am - 5:00pm
