In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the engineering team, focusing on validating and verifying electronic schematics and ensuring functionality and compliance with project and industry standards.

The Test Engineer - Schematics, based in Ipswich, Suffolk, will be responsible for:

Reviewing, analysing, and testing electronic schematics to ensure correctness and functionality

  • Collaborating closely with hardware design engineers to validate circuit designs prior to PCB layout and manufacturing
  • Developing test plans and procedures tailored to schematic-level verification and functional testing
  • Identifying and debugging design issues using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and multimeters
  • Supporting schematic capture validation in tools such as Altium Designer or similar
  • Ensuring designs meet relevant EMC, safety, and performance standards through structured test methodologies
  • Working with cross-functional teams to suggest improvements to designs based on test outcomes

The successful applicant for the Test Engineer - Schematics job in Ipswich, Suffolk, will have:

  • Strong background in electronics or electrical engineering, with a focus on schematic design and validation
  • Hands-on experience in testing and debugging electronic circuits, including analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems
