Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: 15.75 per hour

Location: Kelso (TD5)

Hours: Monday to Thursday (6:30am-2:15pm) and Friday (7am-11am)

Contract Length: 12 weeks initially with possibility of extension

Main Duties:

Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for approximately 150 people daily, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and food safety.
Assist in planning and executing daily menus in line with dietary requirements and customer preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the open kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Collaborate effectively with a small kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely meal delivery.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management as needed.
Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking food and drink orders accurately.
Maintain and follow a cleaning schedule for all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and food preparation areas.

Key Skills:

Proven experience in contract catering, ideally in high-volume environments.
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations.
Ability to consistently prepare quality meals for large groups (approx. 150 people daily).
Excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced kitchen.
Skilled in working as part of a small, collaborative team.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing menu or service requirements.
Strong communication skills with both team members and service staff.
