About the Role

we re looking for a dynamic and proactive Group Transport Planner to take ownership of all outbound logistics across our business. This newly created role will centralise transport planning across multiple sites ( 2 ) bringing consistency, control, and cost efficiency to how we move products to customers.
You ll be the key link between production, sales, warehouse, and logistics, ensuring our transport activities run smoothly, safely, and in line with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate all outbound deliveries using the Aurora system to optimise loads and routes for cost and service.
Work closely with Telesales, Production Planning, Packaging, Warehouse, and Commercial teams to align transport with demand and availability.
Manage relationships with external hauliers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), outsourcing transport where required.
Ensure Duty Movements, EMS documents, and import/export compliance are maintained to legal standards.
Act as the primary escalation point for delivery issues, working with partners to resolve problems quickly and professionally.
Oversee warehouse communication and coordination to ensure timely stock picking and loading.
Maintain and improve the Transport Planning SOP, ensuring backup support and cross-training is in place.
Lead the internal Driver Team, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient deliveries, supported by the Supply Chain Lead.
Drive data-led improvements in delivery performance, vehicle usage, and cost efficiency.
Track and report on key transport KPIs to inform decision-making and performance reviews.

OTIF (On Time In Full) delivery rate

Driver overtime
Vehicle utilisation (empty space ratio)

External transport costs
Candidate Profile
Essential:
Proven experience in transport planning or logistics coordination
Strong working knowledge of transport systems (Aurora experience is a bonus)
Clear, confident communicator with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
Strong organisational and analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset
Understanding of warehouse processes and supply chain coordination
Ability to prioritise under pressure and deliver to deadlines
Desirable:
Experience in food & beverage, FMCG, or manufacturing environments
Knowledge of excise movement and import/export documentation
Formal training or qualifications in logistics or supply chain (e.g. CILT)
