A specialist manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their dedicated team in High Wycombe.
About the RoleThis is a hands-on, detail-oriented role responsible for the testing and inspection of advanced slip ring and potentiometer products. Reporting directly to the HSQE Manager, you ll play a vital role in maintaining exceptional product quality while supporting continuous improvement and quality management across the business.
Key Responsibilities:Carry out mechanical and electrical testing of precision electromechanical components, including insulation, noise, and voltage drop testing.
Visually inspect parts for surface defects such as nicks, burrs, pits, and scratches.
Maintain and update quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, and quality alerts.
Investigate product and process failures using robust problem-solving techniques (8D, 5 Whys, A3).
Support the analysis of customer returns and internal rejects; lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Conduct internal audits and support external compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
Maintain key departmental data, including supplier rejections and customer return metrics.
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, testing, and supply chain teams.
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Strong experience in quality control, ideally in a precision manufacturing environment.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and electrical testing methods.
Familiar with quality standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and lean tools like 5S (desirable).
Excellent attention to detail, methodical in your approach and confident in your communication.
Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD data.
Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
