We are seeking a highly skilled Competent Person to oversee ground investigation activities specifically related to substation projects in Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising site investigations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and National Grid Safety Instructions (NSI). This role requires a thorough understanding of substation environments, with a focus on health and safety, site management, and the implementation of best practices in ground investigation. The candidate will coordinate with site teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. NSI 6 authorisation is essential, with NSI 8 considered highly desirable. The role may involve travel across Scotland and requires excellent communication and organisational skills.

• NSI 6 authorisation (essential)

• Ground investigation site management and supervision
• Health and safety compliance and documentation (risk assessments, method statements)
• Knowledge of substation safety protocols and National Grid Safety Instructions
• Ability to coordinate and liaise with contractors and clients effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in site inspections and inductions
