Main Purpose of the Role
The Risk and Assurance Manager will support successful programme delivery across the Environment Programme Delivery Office (EPDO) by embedding effective risk and assurance practices. This role ensures risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated, while governance standards are met and continuous improvement is driven.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across projects and programmes.
Deliver consistent risk workshops, reporting, and governance alignment.
Support project teams in applying risk controls and responding to audits.
Maintain oversight of RAIIDD (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions) processes.
Assurance & Governance
Conduct assurance reviews to ensure adherence to governance frameworks and best practices.
Review project documentation and report to key governance boards (e.g., Programme Delivery Board, DESNZ).
Support project assurance standards, tools, and methodologies across EPDO.
Facilitate stage gate assurance and challenge project plans and delivery.
Change & Performance Management
Support scope change processes and configuration management.
Monitor and report on performance, risk, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with the PMO Analyst and delivery teams for consolidated reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement & Capability Building
Advise and engage with Programme Boards and project teams on risk and assurance.
Provide training and guidance on tools and best practices.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and alignment with corporate frameworks.
General Duties
Uphold organisational values, governance standards, and customer service expectations.
Support team objectives, manage personal performance, and contribute to process improvements.
Fulfil additional duties as required by line management.
