KS3 Nurture Teacher SEN School Slough

Start Date: September 2025 (Interviews taking place now)

A specialist SEN school in Slough is seeking a dedicated and compassionate KS3 Nurture Teacher to join their team from September. The role will focus on delivering a nurturing, holistic approach to education for Key Stage 3 pupils with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional learning challenges.

As a KS3 Nurture Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a small group of pupils across core subjects including English, Maths, PSCHE, and Humanities. You will help build trust, consistency, and confidence in students through a nurturing curriculum and a structured, safe learning environment. Your approach will delay full transition into subject-specialist teaching to support the pupils social and emotional development, in line with the nurture group ethos.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the KS3 curriculum

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional well-being

  • Promote a nurturing environment with consistent routines and clear expectations

  • Work closely with the SEN team to develop personalised learning plans

  • Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and social skills

  • Monitor and record progress, adapting teteaching as needed

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working in an SEN or SEMH environment

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 curriculum and ability to teach across core subjects

  • Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

  • Passion for supporting vulnerable learners and a flexible, compassionate approach

Working hours: 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, term time only
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
