GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team at a welcoming secondary school in Southampton . This full-time role offers a competitive annual salary of GBP18,500 to GBP21,000 , depending on experience, with the opportunity for career progression and a permanent contract after a successful probation period. Start date is immediate or from September 2025 .

About the Role

Step into a rewarding position where your support helps students with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Speech and Language Difficulties thrive. You ll be working in the school s resource base, supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) .

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) , your responsibilities will include:

• Student Support : Provide tailored assistance to students in the resource base.
• Classroom Assistance : Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom activities.
• Individual Guidance : Offer one-on-one support to help students overcome learning challenges.
• Flexibility : Adapt to the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
• Training : Access to training provided by GSL Education to equip you with essential SEN support skills.

What We re Looking in SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

• Experience : Previous experience in a similar role or a strong understanding of SEN procedures is desirable.
• Transferable Skills : We welcome applicants from the care sector with experience supporting children with SEN or physical disabilities .
• Attention to Detail : Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Communication : Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Reliability : A dependable and punctual individual who can work independently.
• Qualifications : Relevant qualifications or training in education are a plus.
