Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant Primary School in Poole, Dorset

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming primary school in Poole, Dorset . This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with Autism or other SEN needs. The position starts in September 2025 , offering a weekly pay rate of GBP450 GBP480 , depending on experience.

About the Role

Step into a rewarding position where your support can make a lasting difference in a child s life. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant , you ll work closely with a pupil on the Autistic Spectrum , helping them navigate their learning journey with confidence and care.

Your responsibilities as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) will include:

  • Individual Support : Provide one-on-one assistance tailored to the pupil s specific needs.
  • SEN Expertise : Use your understanding of autism and SEN strategies to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborative Approach : Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement effective support plans.
  • Positive Reinforcement : Encourage progress through patience, consistency, and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Inclusive Learning : Help foster a classroom culture that values diversity and inclusion.

What We re Looking in 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA)

  • Experience working with children with Autism or SEN (in or outside of a school setting).
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative school environment.
  • Willingness to engage in a school tour prior to formal interview.
