Salary: GBP50,000 - GBP55,000 per annum
Start Date: September 2025

GSL Education London Branch is excited to be recruiting an experienced Health and Safety Manager to work at a vibrant and high-achieving secondary school in the heart of Westminster . If you're a Health and Safety Manager who is passionate about keeping school environments safe, efficient, and compliant, this is the role for you!

As the Health and Safety Manager , you will be responsible for leading all aspects of health and safety across the school, ensuring staff, students, and visitors are kept safe and well-protected. You will play a key part in the daily operations of the school and will have a real impact on the learning environment.

This is an amazing opportunity for a skilled and motivated Health and Safety Manager to take on a new challenge in a supportive and dynamic setting. The successful Health and Safety Manager will work closely with senior leaders and site teams to maintain a safe and secure school environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all health and safety procedures in line with legal and school regulations

  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments

  • Update and maintain health and safety policies and records

  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safety procedures

  • Respond to and manage any health and safety incidents or concerns

  • Work closely with school leaders and external partners to ensure full compliance

  • Lead on fire safety checks and emergency planning

  • Ensure equipment and facilities meet required safety standards

Requirements:
  • Proven experience working as a Health and Safety Manager , preferably within an educational or public sector setting

  • NEBOSH or similar health and safety qualification essential

  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • A proactive and problem-solving approach

  • Experience with risk assessments, audits, and reporting systems
