GSL Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Technician to work at a secondary school in Lincoln . This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in science who is looking to support practical learning and enhance science education for students across all key stages.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a school environment, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for supporting young people in their learning. A science qualification at A-Level or higher is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3, KS4, and KS5
• Prepare, set up, and clear away apparatus and equipment for science lessons and demonstrations
• Mix and prepare chemical solutions as required, ensuring safe handling and disposal
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure stock levels are monitored and replenished
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed
• Provide technical support and advice to teachers, trainee teachers, and NQTs
• Promote student well-being, providing guidance and encouragement during practical tasks

Requirements:

• A background in science with a relevant qualification (A-Level or degree preferred)
• Previous experience working in a school or laboratory setting is desirable
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
• IT proficiency and excellent communication skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
