Salary: GBP90 GBP110 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking to appoint a committed and empathetic Learning Mentor to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavioural challenges at a supportive school in Eastbourne . This is a fulfilling opportunity for someone who thrives on helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Role Overview:
As a Learning Mentor , you will provide targeted support to students on a 1:1 or small group basis, focusing on both academic and emotional development. You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs , and pastoral teams to implement personalised strategies and promote positive behaviour.

Responsibilities for Learning Mentor:

• Support students with SEN and behavioural needs both inside and outside the classroom.
• Help pupils build confidence, develop coping strategies, and engage more fully with their learning.
• Monitor progress and liaise regularly with teaching staff, parents, and carers.
• Promote a positive and inclusive school ethos.
• Act as a role model, demonstrating patience, resilience, and consistency.

Requirements for the Learning Mentor:

• Previous experience in a pastoral, mentoring, or behaviour support role is preferred.
• Understanding of SEN and behaviour management techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A nurturing, solution-focused approach to working with young people.
• Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
