Job Title : Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location : Exeter
Salary : 30,000 to 42,000 + package

Our client, a leading infrastructure contractor, is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Exeter, supporting the delivery of a major Capital Delivery Framework for a key water supplier.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of a portfolio of projects across the water network. These projects include a range of capital works focused on maintaining and upgrading critical infrastructure across the region.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
• Support subcontractor procurement, measurement, and payment processes
• Monitor project costs and support financial reporting
• Work with delivery teams to ensure commercial procedures are followed
• Help manage risk and ensure contractual compliance across projects

Assistant Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need:

• At least 12 months experience in a similar role within construction or infrastructure
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
• Good understanding of NEC contracts (desirable but not essential)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Eagerness to learn and develop under the guidance of experienced commercial professional
