Laser/Punching Operative

Job Description

Our client is looking for a Laser Operator to join their expanding team working a 2 shift rotation. Candidates need to communicate well at a variety of levels (excellent listening skills, verbal, written), have good analytical and problem-solving skills, be self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision, capable of understanding specifications and drawings, understand all measuring equipment within the department.

Duties

• Setting of tools
• Setting of the machine
• Editing programs and checking parts

Required knowledge, skills or experience

• Knowledge of running Bystronic fibre lasers and CO2 lasers
• Experience running Trumpf punches is desired, with potential future training provided depending on performance.
• Knowledge of working to and understanding engineering drawings is essential in both first and third angle projection.
• The ability to work unsupervised is required as although in a team of approx. 6 people the individual will be required to work through various jobs without assistance.

Location: Chilton

Hours of work:

• Dayshift - Mon - Thurs: 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Friday - 8:00am to 12:30pm
• 2 shift rotation: Mon - Thurs: 2:30pm to 11:00pm
• Friday: 12:30pm to 7:00pm
• Mon - Thurs: 6:00am to 2:30pm
• Friday: 6:00am to 12:30 pm

Rate of Pay: GBP14.65 per hour
